We are proud to be a

UUA-Certified WELCOMING CONGREGATION

All of who you are is sacred. All of who you are is welcome.
Welcome to First UU Church of Indiana, PA!

We are a congregation in Indiana, Pennsylvania, about an hour from Pittsburgh. Our congregation is small, but our local footprint is substantial! We have members who step up to do the work of the church as well as make time for fun and community.

Please see more about us at our Facebook page and on Instagram.

We offer both online and in-person worship services, beginning every Sunday morning at 10:30. To attend via Zoom, go to bit.ly/UUSundays.

First UU is a vibrant congregation. We are a congregation of people who seek individual spiritual growth and truth, from within a shared community of support and love. We strive for a better world, and commit ourselves to right relations and thoughtful living.

MORE ABOUT US:

Our congregation has been a beacon for free minds, acceptance, and social justice for more than half a century. First UU is a “beloved community” built on a covenant of shared commitment, where individuals and families can grow and learn in an atmosphere of regard and respect.

We gather together each Sunday morning at 10:30 for Worship. Wondering what a UU “service” is like? It’s welcoming, renewing, inspiring…and much like the services you’ve probably attended at other churches. Visit our Sunday Services page to find out more! Or visit us on our Facebook page for sermon topics, events, news, and community updates.

We also offer Religious Exploration classes for children of all ages — and even for adults! Children usually attend the first part of our main Worship service, then are dismissed to their age-appropriate classrooms. (Our Nursery also invites children from three months through 4 – 5 years of age to play under the watchful and nurturing eyes of our care providers while Worship is taking place.) Please visit our Religious Exploration pages to learn more.

A Social Hour for deeper conversations and connections follows each service, at about 11:30 AM each Sunday. Our church also includes Grauer Hall. It’s a space which was added to our building as part of a major expansion project in 2017 and is now home to many church and community events. During Social Hour, we always provide coffee, snacks, and a warm welcome!
